The Lot 11 and Area EMO worked with other communities in the Tyne Vally Fire District to form a district-wide Emergency Measures Organization. This joint EMO will strengthen community emergency management capabilities by providing broad-based, shared resources. It will also provide our firefighters, police, and emergency medical technicians with stronger, more organized communication channels and support services.

Warm-Up Centre

Our emergency warm-up centre is located at the community hall in Freeland at 82 Milligan’s Wharf Road – Route 173 (former Women’s Institute Hall).

The warm-up centre will be activated by the Lot 11 and Area Emergency Measures Organization during emergencies that require temporary shelter for residents. This building is equipped with an emergency power generator.
